Writings
Exploring tarot, symbolism, and the ideas that form Serpidea.
An introduction
This archive presents a curated selection of my writing. Additional essays, reading guides, deck reviews, and exclusive member content can be found on my Buy Me a Coffee page.
Tarot Foundations
Tarot Foundations is a series that begins with the question, What is tarot? From there, it follows the Major Arcana through three carefully chosen decks, each revealing a different layer of symbolic thought.
Through descriptive writing, each card is explored as an image before it becomes an interpretation. Traditional meanings are introduced within the broader context of the card's symbolism, encouraging readers to develop an understanding that extends beyond memorising keywords.
Essays
These essays explore the wider ideas surrounding tarot — its history, philosophy, symbolism, and relationship to art, ritual, and culture. Together, they reflect an ongoing investigation into the questions that continue to shape my practice.

Reflective Tarot
Tarot, for me, begins long before the first card is turned. This essay explores the interplay between intuition and intellect, visual symbolism and lived experience, and how years of artistic and musical practice have shaped the way I listen to the stories that emerge through the cards.

Observation as Devotion
From rain resting on a leaf to the symbols within a tarot spread, meaningful observation begins with slowing down. This reflection explores beauty, attention, and the discipline of noticing, reflecting on how presence and subtle observation deepen our relationship with both the world and ourselves.
