About Serpidea

I have always been fascinated by creatures — their ugliness and magnificence, their impossibility and uncanny nature. Beasts were what first drew me to drawing and imagining worlds beyond the familiar. Since then, I have chased the sublime, striving to create something that feels both strange and deeply alive.

Over time, I discovered the importance of slowness in the pursuit of excellence. Patience creates space for careful observation, attention to detail, and meaningful craft. Whether I am making art, studying tarot, or writing, I am continually learning how to rest in stillness, listen carefully, and observe without rushing towards conclusions.

Tarot, myth, and ritual are where all of my interests converge. Having trained as a classical musician, later pursued medicine, and remained a self-taught visual artist throughout, tarot arrived as a language that brought these seemingly separate paths together.

When I stepped away from academic life to pursue a creative practice, I founded Serpidea as a home for that convergence. It became a space where my interests in symbolism, philosophy, art, and ritual could grow alongside one another, while inviting others to explore them through my work.

Ultimately, Serpidea is an exercise in symbolic world-building: a space through which to cultivate a different way of seeing. I want to create something that feels ancient and untouched, yet familiar enough to invite curiosity. It is a place that welcomes paradox and imagination while remaining grounded in careful observation, structure, and lived experience.

Like any meaningful practice, Serpidea is never truly finished. It continues to evolve through making, questioning, and the slow accumulation of lived experience.
